Elevated work platforms and multi-level racking systems allow companies to add floor space without costly additions to the facility’s footprint. Unfortunately, these elevated environments also create safety challenges for employees working in these areas. Falls to a lower level are among the most common causes of serious work-related injuries and deaths, according to OSHA.
The GateKeeper® Mezzanine Safety Gate is a dual reciprocating barrier that works to create a controlled access area where the inner and outer gates can’t be opened at the same time. The key feature is a link bar design that allows the outer gate to be open to allow pallets in while the inner gate automatically closes to keep personnel out. The steel-sided frame provides heavy-duty track protection and the gate operates smoothly with nylon rollers on a 3" track. No chains or cables.
The GateKeeper fits where sliding or swing gates might not. Since both gates work in unison one gate is closed ALL THE TIME and the drop off edge is always protected.
Overhead doors on upper levels hide the dangerous drop-off just on the other side. The GateKeeper can be used to help protect workers and fork trucks working in these areas.
The toeboard design prevents objects from falling to a lower level and potentially injuring someone below.
